191. Twenty-Eight Things To Do In Music City This Week (November 9-16)


Plenty to do this week in Music City! Everything from the Veterans Day Parade to the annual A Country Christmas at Gaylord Opryland. Check out the events, a Nashville restaurant, and upcoming concerts, below and don’t forget to look at what will occur the following week.

VETERANS DAY PARADE
Nashville’s Veterans Day Parade will take place on November 11, and the public is encouraged to line up on Lower Broadway. The 101st Airborne Division Band, Honor Guard, and Troop element will lead the parade which begins at 11am. nashville.gov

FREE ADMISSION AT THE FRIST
The Frist Center for the Visual Arts is offering FREE admission to veterans on November 11. fristcenter.org

LIGHTNING 100’S MUSIC CITY SALUTES
Marathon Music Works will host Lightning 100’s Music City Salutes featuring JD McPherson, on November 11, to raise funds for Overwatch Alliance. marathonmusicworks.com

GLORY DENIED: A WARRIOR’S STORY OF HOPE
The Nashville Opera is performing Glory Denied, November 11-13, at the Noah Liff Opera Center. nashvilleopera.org

FIELD OF HONOR
Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage: Home of the People’s President will host Field of Honor featuring 1,000 3’x5′ American flags across their grounds November 11-13. The event is free of charge, open to the public, and a tribute to the men and women who have served or are serving in the U.S. Military. thehermitage.com

A COUNTRY CHRISTMAS

CMA COUNTRY CHRISTMAS
The taping of CMA Country Christmas will take place at the Grand Ole Opry House on November 8. Jennifer Nettles will return as host, and Amy Grant, Andra Day, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, and more are set to perform. The show will air on ABC on November 28. Find more information.

AN EVENING WITH MR. DICKENS
Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage: Home of the People’s President is hosting an impersonator of Charles Dickens who will share some of the writer’s most famous works on November 10. thehermitage.com

FIRST FOLIO! THE BOOK THAT GAVE US SHAKESPEARE
The First Folio! The Book That Gave Us Shakespeare exhibit is making its way to The Parthenon. SAMURAI: THE WAY OF THE WARRIOR
Samurai: The Way of the Warrior is the Frist Center for the Visual Arts’ exhibit featuring ninety objects, including armor & weapons, ranging in date from the 14th to the 19th centuries to illustrate the story of the Samurai, a warrior class from early Japanese history. THE BOOK OF MORMON

NASHVILLE JEWISH FILM FESTIVAL
