Live On The Green starts, August 11, featuring headlining act Andra Day! This is a free concert series, presented by Lightning 100, at Public Square Park in downtown Music City. The music plays Thursday nights August 11-25, leading up to a 3-day festival September 1-3. Next week, JR JR, Passenger, and Jenny Lewis will take the stage. visitmusiccity.com/liveonthegreen

GUITAR-B-QUE
The annual Guitar-B-Que is happening, August 10, at Ascend Amphitheater this year with the lineup including Kip Moore, Dustin Lynch, Jon Pardi, and more. Proceeds from the event go to benefit St. Jude Children’s Hospital. thebig98.com

GUY CLARK CELEBRATION
Ryman Auditorium will host a special event in tribute to Nashville songwriter Guy Clark on August 16. Some of the artists scheduled to perform are Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell, and Steve Earle. ryman.com

TOMATO ART FEST
The annual Tomato Art Fest occurs August 12-13 featuring art, live music, and vendors with the common theme of the day being the tomato. This year’s lineup includes Jeffrey James, Elise Davis, Kansas Bible Company, Chrome Pony, and more. tomatoartfest.com

HARVEST PARTY

MAKING A MURDERER’S DEAN STRANG & JERRY BUTING: A CONVERSATION OF JUSTICE
Dean Strang and Jerry Buting, the lawyers who defended Steven Avery in the Netflix documentary Making a Murderer, will be at TPAC for a conversation on the American criminal justice system on August 14. tpac.org

This year’s Shakespeare in the Park features two performances. Macbeth will begin August 11th and lasts until September 9th (on select dates). Baseball season continues in Music City at First Tennessee Park. The next home game will be, August 12, against the Reno Aces.
