It’s about to go down. The Watermelon Throwdown we mean. Nashville Farmers’ Market will be celebrating everyone’s favorite summer time fruit, on August 6, with contests, prizes, and live music. The fun last from 10am to 2pm, and you have to make sure to check out the Watermelon Tasting Table, Eating Contest, Seed Spitting Booth, and try to guess the weight of Simons’ Produce Largest Watermelon. Full schedule below and we hope you can make it out!
10-11am: Chef Crystal Bogan of The Grilled Cheeserie will host a watermelon with hibiscus and lime granita demonstration in the edible kitchen.
10am-2pm: Grilled gulf shrimp skewer, a grilled wild-caught salmon filet, and grilled Tennessee grown veggies will be sold to raise money for the Music at the Market Fund.
10:30am: Watermelon Eating Contest for children.
11am: JT and the Something Special will begin the live music.
12-2pm: Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum will host their Musical Petting Zoo.
12-2pm: Live bluegrass music in Farm Shed 2 will be played for all to hear.
