On January 8, 1815 Andrew Jackson led an army of soldiers to defeat the British during the Battle of New Orleans. This victory projected him to rockstar status in the United States which eventually led to his presidency. Therefore, in essence Andrew Jackson was Music City’s very first rockstar. AND each year Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage: Home of the People’s President celebrates the occasion by providing FREE admission to all on January 8. Not only is the admission FREE, but they will have a ton of fun activities to take part in throughout the day! That includes a speech from General John Pickler at 11am, a Jackson Movie Marathon, living history programs, and so much more! The fun begins from 9am and lasts until 4:30pm. Please come out and support one of Nashville’s great historic estates and learn about our 7th President’s outstanding victory over the Bristish 201 years ago!
