Songwriter/composer Keegan DeWitt and multi-instrumentalist Jeremy Bullock stripped down a small Nashville row house to build a custom studio. In this space, and together with friend and drummer/producer Dabney Morris, they would record and eventually form a five-piece band around their debut album Youth. Mixing programmed sounds and live performances, each song was run through a TASCAM 4-track cassette tape recorder to maintain an intimate, diary-like feel. The band has performed at SXSW, Hangout Music Fest, Seattle’s Capitol Hill Block Party and Lollapalooza. The band and their videos, singles, and remixes off of the originally self-released Youth have garnered press attention from Entertainment Weekly (which called “Thunder Clatter” “clattering, joyful noise”), Garden & Gun, InterviewMagazine.com, MTV Hive, Noisey, NylonMag.com, Paste, Pure Volume, RollingStone.com, SPIN.com, and The Wall Street Journal’s Speakeasy blog, among others, in addition to earning major support from influential station KEXP.
