74th Running of The Iroquois Steeplechase – May 9
Hope you have your wardrobe set, hat picked out, and ready for Music City’s traditional rite of spring known as the Running of The Iroquois Steeplechase. It’s happening tomorrow, May 9, at Percy Warner Park and everyone is welcome to join the celebration.
A Prairie Home Companion – May 9
If you love the show, A Prairie Home Companion, then you need to head to the Ryman Auditorium as they will broadcast LIVE to a full audience on May 9.
East Nashville Chicken Chase – May 8-9
Plenty to do on the other side of the river this weekend. East Nashville is hosting the second annual East Nashville Chicken Chase and Hot Hen Hoedown May 8th through 9th. The first night, May 8, will feature A Taste of the Wild West East featuring headlining musical act The Hogslop String Band, whiskey tastings, poker, and more. Then, May 9, everyone is welcome to take part in the FREE fun-filled day of excitement as guests get to experience a Farmhouse Spa in the City, Hot Hen Fashion Show, the Rooster Coop with hot wings, beer and Chicken Poo Bingo, the best Hen Hat Contest, a petting zoo, and live music.
Full Moon Tattoo and Horror Festival – May 8-10
Journey on over to the Music City Center for the Full Moon Tattoo & Horror Festival happening May 8th through 9th. It’s a three day showcase of tattoos, tattoo artists, and some of the best from the horror industry. That includes seeing some of your favorite actors like Tony Todd from the Candyman, Brian Mahoney of Boondock Saints 1 & 2 and more.
Musicians Corner – May 9
FINALLY the weekly concert series that occurs every Saturday, at Centennial Park, called Musicians Corner will open this weekend with a kick off spring celebration. The musical lineup includes Dave Barnes & Matt Wertz, Jason Eskridge, Viva Mexico, and Kris Allen. It’s FREE and open to all. If you can’t make it this Saturday. No worries. Just come next Saturday! Or the one after that!
Nashville Ballet presents Clowns and Others – May 10-17
The latest production from the Nashville Ballet is Clowns and Others by choreographer Salvatore Aiello. You may enjoy this spectacular performance at The Martin Center from May 10th through 17th.
National Public Gardens Day – May 8
What better place to celebrate National Public Gardens Day than Music City’s own Cheekwood Botanical Garden and Museum of Art. It’s features live music and special garden tours on May 8.
Second Saturday – May 9
Every second Saturday the Adventure Science Center shows a variety of films, special presentations, and Cosmic Concerts inside the Sudekum Planetarium. The next showing will be May 9 featuring Skies Over Nashville, Laser Beatles, Summer Laze and more. Perfect for families and friends of all ages.
Smashville Celebration – May 8
Bridgestone Arena is playing host to a Smashville Celebration, May 8, with public skate, AUTOGRAPH session, face painting, locker room tours, family fun, and more.
Two Old Hippies Trunk Show – May 9
Two Old Hippies is hosting a Trunk Show, on May 9, showcasing various designers like Abbot Leathers, Andrew Barnett, Jackett, Liberty Black, and more. Perfect opportunity to find your summer wardrobe in Nashville.
