5th Avenue of the Arts (5th Avenue North in downtown Nashville) has undergone some serious transformation over the past few months. And to celebrate, they’re launching A Summer of Art on 5th Avenue of the Arts at the First Saturday Art Crawl on June 1. Mayor Karl Dean’s going to be there to unveil the new streetscape by turning on the street’s new draped lights at 5:15pm. The Art Crawl is usually 6-9pm, but throughout the summer, it will be 4-9pm. More time for art fun. 5th Avenue of the Arts North block will be closed to traffic during that time so people can mingle in the streets, move safely from The Arcade to the 5th Avenue galleries, and eat from food trucks. Live music, puppets, Art Deco-inspired cards, art-making activities, and more will all be part of the festivities. The Art Crawl is usually quite the time. This one’s going to be even better.
