The Music City Center opens today. And if you read yesterday’s post, you already know about all the cool stuff happening today. Well, this is Nashville. We don’t do anything small. We like to party. So, we’re extending the celebration into Monday. On Monday, May 20, Mayor Karl Dean will cut the ribbon at 9am at 5th & Demonbreun. Then he’ll deliver his State of Metro Address at 10am in the Grand Lobby outside the Exhibit Hall, Level 3. Something tells me it will quite the exciting address. Take a break. Have some lunch. Then come back at 5pm, when the public is invited inside to explore, learn, and enjoy. And in the same way Nashville doesn’t do anything small, we also don’t do anything without music. We are Music City, after all. The music starts at 6pm. Outside. It’s a street party. AND a concert. Sheryl Crow, The Time Jumpers with Vince Gill, Mikky Ekko, and the Fisk Jubilee Singers will all take the stage. And it’s all FREE! It’s a party. You know how we do.
