171. 2nd Saturday Outdoor Cinema

Every second Saturday of the month (which is this Saturday!), head over to the Belcourt Theatre for a screening of a select film with their 16mm projector. What makes this event different from any other film at the Belcourt is that it’s outside with the projector pointing at the back wall of the Theatre. So bring your chairs, blankets and snacks and enjoy a great movie. Movies start just after sunset and admission is free.

August 14 – The Graduate
September  11 – Monty Python and the Holy Grail

138. McDougal's

Located in Hillsboro Village, McDougal’s has got some of the best chicken in town. The place is small but has a great outdoor patio, perfect for munching on perfectly cooked chicken tenders. You can chose from a variety of ways to have them cooked, such as grilled or fried, and served with a variety of sauces or dips. The french fries are good and in my opinion could be a meal in itself. There’s a new location in Cool Springs now as well.

Open daily, 7am-9pm

121. Pangaea

Located in the heart of Hillsboro Village, this little store is eclectic and fun. It’s full of neat trinkets, clothing, linens, art, knick-knacks, jewelry and more. Pangaea opened its doors in 1987 and has become a staple in the Village area. When it first opened, it sold mostly vintage clothing and Guatemalan imports. Its selection has grown since then and it’s always easy to find unique gifts for friends and family here.

Store Hours:
Monday-Thursday 10-6pm
Friday-Saturday 10-9pm
Sunday 1-5pm

3. The Belcourt Theatre

Nashville is not only about music. If you are looking for a unique entertainment experience then check out The Belcourt Theatre in Hillsboro Village. As noted by the theatre, they have proven themselves to be “a cultural anchor for the diverse Nashville community.”

The Belcourt is on of the last neighborhood theatres and offers a variety of independent, local, and classical films. They also feature plays, lectures, and other community events.

The concession stand is part of the experience of the Belcourt. They have your traditional offerings such as candy, popcorn, and Cokes. What makes it stand out is they also offer beer (a rotating selection of Yazoo), wine, liquor, and even pizza.

Make sure to go to their website as the entertainment list is extensive.
