104.3. Red, Light, and Blue at Cheekwood

If you don’t want to make it downtown for the big hoopla on the 4th, check out Cheekwood. They’re doing an event called Red, Light, and Blue. The whole thing starts at 6:30pm with Family Night Out (quite obviously a family-friendly event) featuring a magic show. Then at 8pm as the sun sets, the lights go on all over the grounds, inside and out, at Cheekwood. Light is Bruce Munro’s glowing installation that truly transports you to another world. Almost like walking through fireworks! There’s also music, of course. An Americana trio in the herb garden and a pianist in the mansion. Cash bar. Party goes to 11pm.

In case you don’t want to be in the madness downtown on the 4th.

  2. I’ve seen a Bruce Munro light installation in Bath, England. Wonderful.
