365. Awesome April

You know what’s awesome?
You.

You know what else is awesome?
April.
In Nashville.

It’s even called Awesome April! This town doesn’t really slow down very much but it definitely ramps up in April. There is a LOT going on. Festivals, concerts, art exhibits, sports, musicals, plays, and more all fill up the calendar April 1-30. Tin Pan South (#356) starts it all off April 2-6. It’s the biggest songwriter festival in the world. The WORLD. As we move into the month, we see Keb’ Mo’, Elton John, Vince Gill, John Tesh, WAR, Dwight Yoakam, Aaron Neville, The Temptations, Keith Urban, Cold War Kids, Weird Al, Rites of Spring Music Festival with NEEDTOBREATHE and others, The Black Crowes, GWAR, B.B. King, Jimmy Buffett, Band of Horses, Dick Dale, Little Big Town – and that’s just a small handful of the concerts playing during April. Surely you can find something you like in that batch. Seriously. The Country Music Marathon & 1/2 Marathon (#363) pulls up the rear as thousands of people run, walk, and wheel their way through the route as live bands perform their genre-bending soundtracks for the day. And between all that? Rembrandt, crawfish, Fashion Week, Earth Day, hockey, baseball, and the ballet. April is it. It is Awesome.
