Michael W. Smith founded Rocketown in 1994 to give teens a positive place to hang out. It now houses a coffee bar, photography, art and dance studios, stages for live entertainment, and an indoor skatepark. It’s a place where kids of all ages can go to concerts, learn to breakdance, play an instrument, and hang out with other kids their age in a faith-based, alcohol and drug-free environment. The indoor skatepark, Sixth Avenue Skatepark, comprises 9,000 square feet of skate surface and a shop. Skateboards, BMX and inline skates are all welcome on skaters and riders of all ages. They do have clinics and special skate times for different age groups. Check out their website for a listing of events and more information.
