335.2. Bluegrass Underground

It’s pretty much what it sounds like. Bluegrass. Underground. It’s actually a radio show recorded live in a cave at Cumberland Caverns in McMinnville, TN – just a short drive from Nashville. Concerts are held in the Volcano Room – 333 feet below ground. The location within the earth and space made of the earth make it an acoustic experience like no other. And you don’t have to worry about cell phones going off during the show. You can’t get service down there! And it doesn’t matter that it’s February – it’s always 56 degrees inside. Some of the greatest bluegrass musicians around play Underground like Del McCoury, Jim Lauderdale, Jerry Douglas, Ralph Stanley, and the list goes on. It’s truly something unique and wonderful. And something you should try at least once. If not for the bluegrass, then for the cave. If not, for the cave then just see a giant chandelier hanging in one!
