Mississippi State University will play Wake Forest at the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl at LP Field on December 30, 2011. And there are a ton of events leading up to the game – like one giant pep rally. Bands from each of the schools march on 2nd Avenue for MusicFest & Battle of the Bands on Dec. 29. And there’s a free concert from Love and Theft at 5pm prior to the event. Then on Dec. 30, there are team pep rallies, a free concert from Small Time Rock Stars, a family zone with games and a huge party atmosphere downtown. Then the big game kicks off at 5:40pm at LP Field that night. Whether you go to the actual game or not, all the other stuff is definitely worth the trip downtown.
