260.2. The Franklin Theatre

The Franklin Theatre opened on Main Street in 1937 and operated for 70 years before closing its doors in 2007. Since then, the Heritage Foundation of Franklin and Williamson County has bought and refurbished the historic theatre. It reopened its doors this year. The new Franklin Theatre shows movies, concerts and stage productions. Movies range from old to new, blockbuster to independent films, “Miracle on 34th Street” to “The Big Lebowski.” And the music – Sheryl Crow, Mike Farris, Tommy Emmanuel and Guy Clark are all on the calendar to play in the coming months. It’s just a short drive south from Nashville in historic Franklin.
