The oh-so-legendary Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge is celebrating their 51st birthday with a party on the street, in the club and upstairs next week. The Kentucky Headhunters, The Roys, The McClymonts and some other yet-to-be-announced bands will play the outdoor stage on Broadway starting at noon on Wednesday – just before the sold-out Kid Rock concert at the Ryman that night. You see, Kid Rock is a bit of a good friend to Tootsie’s and is helping them celebrate. So he says: “Every time I end up at Tootsie’s it’s a good night and I don’t expect this night to be any different.” Tootsie’s will, of course, continue their celebration through the night. And everyone’s invited. If you’ve ever or never been to Tootsie’s, you probably know they pretty good at the whole party thing. Make it a late night and sing Happy Birthday. You’ll be napping the next day anyway after eating all that turkey.
