The Frist Center for the Visual Arts is located in Nashville’s former main post office. The building was constructed from 1933 to 1934 and really shows off the popular architectural styles of the time – classicism and Art Deco. It’s a beautiful building, inside and out. And for that reason, the Frist offers a monthly architecture tour on the first Saturday to coincide with the First Saturday Art Crawl. Knowledgeable docents guide you through the building to learn about the history and present of the landmark structure.
