146.2. Shakespeare Allowed

Each month, the Nashville Shakespeare Festival hosts a reading of a Shakespeare play, beginning with his first and ending with his last. A reading circle is set up with 16 chairs at Nashville’s main library. Each person in one of those 16 seats reads aloud from the play. Additional seats are available outside of the circle for those that want to listen or read along silently. It’s a great way to delve deeper into the works of William Shakespeare as the reading circle is for novices as well as well-versed Shakespeare fans. Each reading is free and open to the public.

The next reading will be of The Tempest on August 6, followed by Cymbeline on September 3 and Henry VIII on October 1. Check nashvilleshakes.org for more information and the full schedule.
