113.2. National 9/11 Flag on Display

The National 9/11 Flag originated from the remains of a tattered and torn 30-foot American flag that was displayed for all the world to see at 90 West Street across from Ground Zero after the horrific attacks on the Twin Towers in 2001. The flag sat in storage for 7 years until it resurfaced in Greensburg, Kansas after a tornado destroyed the majority of the town. As a thank you to those who helped rebuild the town, Greensburg residents stitched the 9/11 flag back together using flags salvaged from the tornado. Since then, the flag has been on a tour across the United States giving all Americans a chance to add a stitch to the growing flag. The tour will be stopping here in Nashville on July 2nd at the Hilton Nashville Downtown from 11am-5pm (stitching is open until 2pm). You can come view the flag, sponsor a stitch for $5, or add someone to the National 9/11 Flag Honor Roll.
