The newest exhibit at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts is Warhol Live, which will display nearly 300 pieces by the famous artist Andy Warhol. The exhibit “presents a comprehensive exploration of the artist’s work as experienced through the lens of music and dance.” Many of Warhol’s works incorporate music and dance whether in its subject matter (portraits of Elvis, Mick Jagger, and more) or uses (album covers). The works presented in this exhibit include his well-known pieces like the portraits as well as lesser-known works, video, audio recordings and pieces from the artist’s personal archives. The exhibit opens this Saturday, June 24th and will remain until September 11, 2011.
