325. Schermerhorn Symphony Center

One of the coolest buildings in Nashville has got to be the Schermerhorn Symphony Center located downtown near the Country Music Hall of Fame in SoBro. The center finished construction in 2006 and was named in honor of the late Maestro Kenneth Schermerhorn who led the Nashville Symphony for 22 years. The building was designed to resemble the world’s greatest concert halls but with some modern improvements including a unique convertible seating system, moveable banners and panels to adjust sound for the different types of music performed there, natural interior lighting provided by 30 soundproof windows and a custom built concert organ. Though the center suffered major damage in the flood of May 2010, it re-opened at the beginning of this year. The building also has a public garden, gift shop and cafe. Tours are offered, usually on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Get the tour schedule and infohere.
