I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but Nashville got a little bit of snow last night. So go play in it! Make snow angels, build a snowman, have a snowball fight, the list of snow-fun is endless. Below is a recipe for one of my favorite snowy treats: snow cream!
This is just one variation of snow cream. I know there are tons of recipes. Feel free to post your own!
Ingredients
- 8 cups fresh snow (liquid measure)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup milk (you can even use chocolate milk)
- 2 tbsp vanilla
Put approximately 8 cups of fresh snow into a large mixing bowl. Add the ingredients – first 1-cup sugar, then 2 tablespoons vanilla and finally, 1-cup milk. With the help of a wooden spoon, mix all the ingredients well. Continue mixing till the ingredients are well combined and snow attains the texture of ice cream. Serve immediately, since snow cream does not hold well in freezer. Enjoy!
I hope everyone has an awesome snow day!

The easiest way to make snow cream is to throw some snow in a large bowl (much larger than the amount you put in the bowl to allow plenty of room for mixing) and then drizzle sweetened condensed milk over it. Mix it in. It’ll be chunky and ice crystal-y, but it’ll be one of the best things you’ve ever eaten!
