Dragon boat racing was first started over 2,500 years ago in China and has now made its way to Music City with the 4th Annual Dragon Boat & River Festival. This event will be on Saturday, August 14th at Riverfront Park downtown. The festivities begin at 8:30am with a celebration dance that will be performed by the Chinese Arts Alliance of Nashville. At 9am, the races begin! Four teams will race about every 15 minutes with the final being around 2:30pm. This event is free and really cool to watch! Don’t forget to bring sunscreen and cash because there will be food and beverage vendors.
