Bluegrass music as we know it today was born in 1945 when a young man named Earl Scruggs stepped up to the WSM mic on the Ryman Auditorium stage using a 5-string banjo and a 3-finger roll. This doesn’t mean much to most of us but it helped create an entirely new genre of music. Come to the birthplace of bluegrass, the Ryman for Bluegrass Nights this summer. There are 6 shows featuring performances by Vince Gill, Ricky Skaggs, The Grascals, Ear Scruggs, the Del McCoury Band and more. Tickets are $26 but you can also purchase a Bluegrass Pass for all 6 shows for $135.
The first performance is tomorrow night (6/24) with Vince Gill. For information on tickets or performance schedules, check here: http://www.ryman.com/bluegrassseries.html.
