The Nashville Zoo is one of those places in this city that so many locals drive by all the time, but have yet to spend the day there. The Zoo is located on 80 acres just outside of downtown. The animals come from all over the world and include mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles, and fish.
A few must see exhibits are the Meerkats, Red Panda, Eurasian Lynx, Giant Anteater, Bengal Tiger, White-Cheeked Gibbon, Bushmaster, American Alligator, Eyelash Viper, just to name a few.
The Nashville Zoo has a natural feel to the place with a helpful and knowledgeable staff. The layout of the place allows for visitors to get fairly close to the animals. Allow yourself some time to truly experience all that the Nashville Zoo has to offer.
Do not forget your walking shoes as the exhibits can be spread out.
