36. Volunteer at Second Harvest Food Bank

Nashville gives all of us so much everyday, it is important to remember to give a little back. That is one of the things that makes Nashville such a great city, we always help each other in our time of need.

Set some time aside to volunteer at the Second Harvest Food Bank. Hunger is becoming an increasingly more prevalent problem and affects children the worse. Nationwide, 1 in 8 Americans are at risk of hunger. In Tennessee that number is 1 in 6. In Middle Tennessee alone, 47% of the people that Second Harvest helps are children.

There are many ways to get involved.

1. Donate food by either participating in a food drive or organizing one.

2. Donate time by volunteering to sort and pack food or a variety of other opportunities.

3. Donate Money.

The Second Harvest website has a full list of opportunities to get involved. The needs of the organization change, so check back often.

Make that commitment today. Second Harvest makes it easy to be involved and stay involved. If your questions are not answered on the website, do not hesitate to call.
